Daal In Instant Pot. Wash gently by rubbing with your fingers. Saute for 30 seconds, stirring constantly.

Add the lemon juice and cilantro and taste for seasonings, adding more salt or lemon juice as needed. Once the cumin sputters, add onions and saute until translucent. Add the dal, water and peanuts.
Saute For 5 Minutes, Stirring Occasionally.
Rinse the lentils this way 4 times. Give everything a good stir and close the instant pot lid. Add turmeric powder and a few drops of oil.
Add Half Of The Dough Squares To The Daal And Mix Gently.
Add the dal, water and peanuts. Add spices to the instant pot: Let the seeds sizzle for few seconds.
Once It's Hot, Add Cumin Seeds, Ginger Paste, Garlic, Green Chillies And Turmeric Powder.
Add the tomatoes and saute until the tomatoes soften. Remove the tadka from the heat. Turn the instant pot to saute mode and using an immersion blender (or back of the spoon), gently blend (or mix) the dal for 5 seconds.
Press The Sauté Button On The Instant Pot, Add The Oil And Allow It To Heat Up For A Minute.
Add sesame seeds, turmeric, salt, red chili powder, cumin seeds and garlic. Then add all the tempering ingredients and sauté for 30 seconds. Then add the ginger, tomato and spices.
Soak The Lentils In Cold Water Overnight.
Add oil or butter, onion, garlic and ginger. Add garam masala, coriander, chili powder, salt and cayenne. Wash gently by rubbing with your fingers.
